Healing with Sound

Gerald Levine, MD, is a full-time Family Physician and a facilitator of mindfulness meditation in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Gerald combines his practise of traditional western medicine with mindfulness meditation and intuitive, improvisational music to promote healing, stress-reduction and life-balance.He co-wrote and produced “Colours of Sound“, an original CD that promotes relaxation and energy balance. Classically trained on violin and mandolin, his love of improvisation started in 1975 and has resulted in many musical adventures across Canada, Europe, the South Pacific and the Caribbean. He enjoys many musical styles including folk, celtic, jazz, blues, rock and world music.

Gerald also enjoys playing fiddle and mandolin with a folk/celtic band, “The Purveyors“.He enjoys co-facilitating seminars and workshops with his spouse Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Levine, BSW (Ryerson University), is a Social Worker, Certified Soundwork Practitioner, Reiki Master and Drum Facilitator. She received her Soundwork certification at the Transformational Arts College in Toronto, Canada. Her diverse experience as a social worker, actor and musician culminated in her profession as a sound healer. She has facilitated drum circle workshops in various community and hospital settings in Ontario, Canada. She designed and currently teaches a drum circle program for the Barrie City Parks and Recreation department. Elizabeth was the inspiration for and co-writer of the Colours of Sound CD. She has co-created the Healing with Sound workshops for the promotion of well-being and creativity. She is an improvisational musician and enjoys playing percussion and providing back-up vocals in the folk/celtic band, “The Purveyors“.
